 | 21st Dec 2008 | 10 Railways <> Utrecht: = Fortweg-crossing > Passenger trains
I did already upload a collection of pictures on this point, but there are only freighttrains. This collection has only pictures of passengertrains that pass this location. The international trains do NOT normally pass this location, only on diversions. The diesel-ICE was a promotion-special passing by.

 | 26th Oct 2008 | 09 Railways <> Utrecht: = Lunetten GE south
If the sun is "right', you can also take pictures on the south side of Lunetten-GE. You can stand on a walkway next to the highway that cross the railway-lines. Here are some pictures I took. I will add more if I take some more over the time being. This scene will also change in the near future.

 | 12th May 2008 | 08 Railways <> Utrecht = Lunetten GE
At this location the 2 railwaylines from Utrecht Central split: on the left is the line to Geldermalsen and Den Bosch, on the right is the line to Driebergen and Arnhem. From the left comes the avoiding-line wich runs from Blauwcapel to here. Only freighttrains use that route, along with the trains to/from the railway-museum. This scene will change too as the line to Geldermalsen will be doubled until Houten

 | 30th Mar 2008 | 07 Railways <> Utrecht = Mereveld crossing
On the line from Utrecht to Arnhem, there is a crossing at "Mereveld" at the site of the old racecourse. Here you can watch trains in the afthernoon, coming from Arnhem. It is possible to take pictures of trains going to Arnhem, but the view is limited. Look what I saw on a saturday-afthernoon. The "camel-look"-train is a museum one!

 | 15th Dec 2007 | 06 Railways <> Utrecht = new tram testing
In Utrecht, we have only 1 tram-line. It runs from the Central Station to Nieuwegein and splits there in 2 parts: one to the south of Nieuwegein and one to IJsselstein. Both these cities are close to Utrecht and set up to house more people near Utrecht. On this tramline we have trams from 1980's. This modern tram from Mulhouse, France, visit the railway-line so people could see how a modern tram would look like. There is a discussion going on to make more tramlines around Utrecht. I will follow this too.
Pictures with 100-numbers were taken while the tram ran to Zuilenstein were the extra runs ended. Pictures with 200-numbers were taken during the run back to the Central station of Utrecht

 | 24th Aug 2007 | 04 Railways <> Utrecht = passenger-trains at the Central station
In the weekend of 24/25 March, the normal route for the high-speed-train "Thalys" from Amsterdam to Parijs was not aviable. Therefore the trains had to run via Utrecht to Tilburg and onwards to Antwerp. Together with some local trains and the German ICE, here are some shots of the "Thalys" in Utrecht.

 | 24th Jul 2007 | Utrecht Lunetten little station (update 12-05-2008)
This station still has a small building where there used to sell tickets. But the Dutch railway company wants the people to by their tickets at machines. So the little building stands empty, waiting for the things to come....
|
 | 21st Jul 2007 | 05 Railways <> Utrecht = Fortweg crossing
Fortweg crossing is the point were I started taking pictures of railways. It is only 5 minutes by bike from my house and a good point for watching trains. I will upload more pictures from this point as times goes by
|
 | 23rd May 2007 | 03 Railways <> Utrecht = Central station + freighttrains only
At the weekend of 24/25 March, 2 major freight routes through the Netherlands were blocked. So, almost all Netherlands-Germany freighttrains passed through Utrecht. Here is a selection of the Saturday, wich I spent on the Central station.
I will update this section as times goes by. Only pictures of freight trains will appear here!
|
 | 12th Oct 2006 | 01 Railways <> Utrecht = The Central station
I live in this city, 4th greatest in the Netherlands. The Central station will change completly in the coming years, and so does the tracks around it. Watch how things change!!
01 = pictures from the station itself as it is for now in 2008. Pictures of rebuilding the station will be in collection 11.

In March 2004, a small group painted Electric Multiple Unit 419 back into original colours of 1964. It was used for crew training in and around Amsterdam. Here are some shots I could take.
